"The Heart of a Dragon"

Films: Dragonheart (1996), Dragonheart: A New Beginning (2000), Dragonheart 3: The Sorcerer's Curse (2015), Dragonheart: Battle for the Heartfire (2017)

Alias: Draco, the Scarred One, Drake, Drago

Type: Mystical

Location: Cave/Forest/Civilized Area/Lake

Height/Weight: Usually three times that of a bus.

Affiliation: Good

Summary: Dragons up to this point have mostly been the bad guys, or at the very least beasts that are best left avoided. But that's hardly fair. They are majestic, powerful creatures, and no franchise knows that better than this one.

History: The dragons are older than mankind itself, and have fought alongside us for as long as we can remember. For when a dragon's honorable duty is fulfilled and it has seen its last day, it is given a place in the stars, or their idea of the heavens. One of the most striking things about the dragons is their hearts. If a dragon shares a portion of its heart with someone, those two are connected forever, feeling each other's pain and emotions. There have been many dragons over the years, perhaps the best of which was Draco, the supposed last of his kind after a brutal misunderstanding led to the rise of a tyrant and twelve years of dragon genocide.

Notable Kills: Nothing special

Final Fate: Drago, Draco's predecessor, sacrificed himself to mend a fractured family and take the all-too powerful Heartfire with him. Draco lets himself be slain so that the tyrant may die alongside him. Both earn their place in the heavens through these sacrifices. However, a dragon egg was soon found after all of this. The new dragon, Drake, helped destroy an evil sorcerer trying to become a dragon, and is still alive to this day.

Powers/Abilities: Dragons can breathe fire, camouflage with the environment, and in some cases, master the Ice Lung technique. Basically ice breath.

Weakness: If the person who the dragon shared his/her heart with dies, so does the dragon.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-These are powerful creatures, no doubt. A single dragon can reduce an entire village to burnt splinters. However, pretty much every dragon is altruistic to a fault, and a fantastic friend to have around. Our personal favorite is obviously Draco, with his hilariously thick Scottish accent and grand desire to set things right.

Trivia: -The dragons have been voiced by, in order of film, Sean Connery (Draco), Robby Benson (Drake), Ben Kingsley (Drago), and Patrick Stewart (Drago again). Funnily enough, Stewart provided Draco's voice during test runs of the effects.

-Originally, the first film was going to star Liam Neeson instead of Dennis Quaid, and Draco's effects would be done by Jim Henson.

"I shall devour you with the power of crappy 90s CGI!"

More like "A New Low".

...eh. Take what you can get.
Did some talented guy on Deviantart do this?

The original Odd Couple.

Sorcerer? What? The lummox with the rock?

Doesn't mean you shouldn't get out of the fire!

Well done or simply ashes?

"Make me intimidating. NOW."

"So, about interspecies relationships..."

The dragon named Gryphon. No, really.

"Anymore sequels and my honor will be SIGNIFIGANTLY bent to suit your burning!"
